Description

Our unique blend of active ingredients have been carefully selected for their ability to provide comprehensive support where liver function is compromised, all put into a sneaky sprinkle capsule which is easily mixed into food.

How can HepatiNorm™ help?

Supports normal liver function

HepatiNorm™ provides DL-Methionine, a natural precursor of SAM-e, which is critical in supporting the normal functioning of the liver.

Provides a powerful and natural antioxidant

Milk Thistle, rich in the antioxidant Silymarin, has been very well documented for its benefits to liver health, including a protective role against potential damage caused by free radicals.

Helps to protect and ease stress on liver cells

Includes compounds that can aid in reducing the oxidative stress of liver cells, helping to ease their workload, as well as providing ingredients that can play a role in avoiding excessive build-up of cholesterol & fats in the liver.

Supports the body during liver stress
Since pets with liver problems can often be deficient in vitamin B, we have also included a complex of B vitamins to assist with not only the normal functioning of the liver, but to provide support to the rest of the body.

Amazing after 2 weeks of liver medication , yumove & cbd
My cat has recovered amazingly his tumours are shrinking, liver functions getting back to normal, and your not paying extortionate fees at vets for the same recommended products. This product has given him the boost he needed🤞 imagine what it will do over the next few months for him.
1day he was given 24/48hrs if I was lucky we are 2 weeks in he's back to how he was ,gaining weight, furs looking better ,jumping ,meowing ,brighter within himself , if your cats struggling to eat it, hide using tins of sardines/pilchards/tuna something smelly /tasty they can have 1 whole fish 3x a week so I do a smaller amount to get the weeks tablets in, then he has his normal cat food treats as well so balanced diet.

Q & A

Below are some recent questions we've received regarding HepatiNorm™ Liver Support Sprinkle Capsules for Cats & Dogs, including answers from our team.

Can this be fed as a capsule?

Hazel

Does this product have to be fed sprinkled on food? My dog is fussy and will take capsules and tablets wrapped in ham or in cheese but not sprinkled/poured on food. Can these be fed a sa capsule or do they have to be removed from their casing?

  • VioVet Staff

Capsules can either be fed whole or opened and mixed in with food. We recommend dividing the amounts between meals.

VetPro alternative

Damian Panton

Can I use these instead of the VetPro Advanced Liver Support tablets. My dog has two a day and they are expensive.

  • VioVet Staff

These contain similar ingredients but not exactly the same. In particular, HepatiNorm does not contain SAM-e. It contains a precursor to it though. If your vet has recommended VetPro specifically then they may wish for this ingredient to be administered and it's important to keep it up.
HepatiNorm is a great alternative if you cannot financially keep up a liver supplement containing SAM-e though.

Liver support

Amanda

Can I use these as an equivalent product to
Zentonil advance 100 for cats?

  • VioVet Staff

These are both liver supplements and contain similar ingredients to help support the liver. Zentonil contains SAM-e though whilst HepatiNorm contains a precursor to SAM-e, this means technically they are different. You should only switch supplements alongside advice from your vet because of this.
If you would like more advice on liver supplements I recommend reading our blog on this, link provided here.

Use with other supplements

Phil.

One of the ingredients of Hepatinorm is dl-methionine. This amino acid is a precursor of s-adenosylmethionine (S.A.M.-e), but a dog with impaired liver function may not synthesize s-adenosylmethionine adequately. My dog is presently on a tablet which contains S.A.M.-e and milk thistle, but does not include other ingredients which are included in Hepatinorm. He does get supplementary vit. B12, but not the other B complex vitamins.

Methione overdose is possible. Would it be safe to give a dog both Hepatinorm and a SAM-e with milk thistle (active ingredients thereof) supplement. Or what would be the best way to get the benefits of both a supplement such as Denmarin and the additional ingredients included in Hepatinorm?

  • VioVet Staff

You will be doubling up on the Milk Thistle Extract in using both these products together. Research shows that Milk Thistle Extracts are known to be safe and well tolerated, and toxic or adverse effects observed in clinical trials seem to be minimal. Therefore this is likely to be safe however we cannot guatantee this as HepatiNorm has not been formulated for use alongside other liver supplements.
I recommend reading our blog 'Supporting your pets liver' for a guide on what brands and ingredients are available to support the liver.

My dog has a liver shunt and on hepatic dry food, if used would this mean I could change to ordinary dog food?

  • VioVet Staff

This supplement is great at helping support the liver but it will not prevent the need for a liver support diet. Liver veterinary diets have selected low protein levels which is really important as the liver processes the breakdown products of proteins. If protein in the food is too high then it overwhelms the liver and signs of toxicity can occur, called hepatic encephalopathy.
Ideally once the liver disease is treated then liver function should recover and you can move away from the liver diet. However this greatly depends on the cause of the condition. HepatiNorm will help speed up recovery and support the liver but it is not a substitute for a liver support diet if one is needed. You should follow your vets advice on when/if to stop the liver food.
