Key Benefits Why Omega 3 will help
Helps maintain healthy skin (reduces itching) Omega 3 fatty acids help to maintain a protective barrier in the skin to block out irritants and are necessary to help balance Omega 6 fatty acids to maintain the natural anti-inflammatory actions of the body. A deficiency in certain types of fatty acids can result in a dull coat and dry, itchy skin that is susceptible to irritations and allergic episodes.
Helps maintain a healthy, glossy coat Hemp Oil provides the perfect balance of Omega 3 and Omega 6 fatty acids. This is essential to help maintain the normal moisture content within skin cells and hair follicles to support a soft, silky, shiny coat and normal moulting cycles.
Helps maintain normal moulting cycles Fat soluble antioxidants like vitamin E tocotrienols provide support against tissue damage and degeneration caused by free radicals. The tocotrienol form of Vitamin E is 40 to 60 times more readily recycled than other forms of vitamin E in membrane systems and where the lining of skin cells contain high levels of fats. The presence of these fat soluble antioxidants are essential to provide natural protection, both within and around these microscopic structures. Healthy skin means healthy hair follicles and a shiny coat and normal moulting cycles.
Helps maintain good fertility status. Omega 3 fatty acids and vitamin E antioxidants have been found to be useful in supporting the quality and mobility of sperm, which is essential for breeding stud dogs. Sperm contain high concentrations of very important EPA and DHA fatty acids that are metabolized from the correct balance of Omega 3 and Omega 6

Contains the Oatinol® Delivery System

For all of the above active ingredients to be utilised, they have to be absorbed from the horses’ digestive tract. Oatinol supplies natural antioxidants, polar lipids, beta glucans and galactolipid emulsifiers, required to maintain gut cell integrity, maintain the lining of the gut, support the immune system and aid the absorption of active ingredients, vitamins and trace elements.into and out of cells.

Active Ingredient Why we use it
Oatinol - Galactolipid Natural Emulsifiers Galactolipids are a combination of sugar and fat molecules that help establish the perfect medium for enzyme activity in the gut to absorb feed components.

Tocotrienol Antioxidants
Tocotrienol antioxidants are found naturally in oat bran. This tocotrienol form of vitamin E is 40 to 60 times more readily recycled in membrane systems and supports tissue integrity.
Oatinol - Oat Derived

Omega 3 oil

If you have a dog who has a sensitive tummy will omega 3 oil upset his tummy

  • Veterinary Advisor

I think Omega 3 oil would be very unlikely to upset your dogs stomach although it is really dependent on the individual dog. I would give it try and see what happens then just stop if it causes a problem.

Is this safe for dog at the start of kidney failure

  • VioVet Customer Since: September 2011

11 year old atopic spaniel bitch with severe chicken allergy and history of colitis and pancreatitis. Does not tolerate salmon oil and also has tinnitus. Will this product help with kidney function? Just started to drink more and some innappropriate urination as a result but seemingly healthy despite over dilute urine and minor lowering of kidney function shown by blood test.

  • Veterinary Advisor

Research has shown that Omega 3 could be helpful in supporting kidney function. Since this supplement is fish oil free this would be a good one for your dog to try. You could also discuss with your vet whether it is a good idea to switch onto a renal diet or ipakitine supplementation of her current food.
