I bought this as my mare was coming back into work after a long lay off & started coughing when asked to trot. After a week she stopped coughing. Ate it in her food. Would concider using it again.

Possibly a very good product but had no affect on my horse who seems to have an allergic cough. Not suitable for my horse but not to say it wouldn't work on another horse.

My senior horse that always suffered from coughing this time of year has stopped. Last year she coughed in her stable and got infection after infection. Which cost me a fortune. But with a mix of clean hay-ledge and ventilator she hasnā€™t suffered one bit! Amazing stuff! A life saver of a product for a small price and one monthly supply lasts longer than a monthly supply.

Respiratory question

Jacqui

Hi. Could you please advise if this is useful for horses with COPD?
Thank you

  • VioVet Staff

This product is designed with COPD and similar conditions in mind. It is believed to be a mild help in the average case. Being a herbal product it has not been scientifically evaluated and so the degree to which it helps and the type of horse/condition which shows the best response is not clear. It is safe to try it and then you have to assess the effect for yourself. Always combine any treatment with diligent efforts to reduce the amount of dust your horse can inhale, especially from hay or straw. Spending as much time as possible outside is great. Choose different bedding (or rubber matting ideally) and soak hay if it is offered.
