Equine America Fly-Repel is a range of natural products which provides superior protection from biting flies. The natural ingredients allow for safe use around both horse and rider and make this Fly-Repel an essential product for long lasting fly deterrence.
The key ingredient in Fly-Repel is Citrepel, a natural highly effective insect repellent which out performs synthetic repellents in tests. Produced from eucalyptus oils, Citrepel contains p-menthane-3.8-diol (PMD) and has been shown to be highly effective against a broad spectrum of insects in tests of efficacy.
Currently all Equine America products are suitable for use under FEI and Jockey Club rules.
Water, Citrepel 5% (p-menthane-3,8-diol), Polysorbate 20, Glycerine, Carbomer, Triethanolamine, DMDM Hydantoin, Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree Oil), Lavendula Angustifolia (Lavener Oil) Cedrus Atlantica (Cedarwood Oil).
Purified Water, Citrepel 2.5%, Tea TreeOil, Castor Oil, Lavender Oil, Cedarwood Oil,Xanthan Gum, Preservative.
Apply directly to the skin with a cloth or sponge, avoiding the eye area. Before initial use, a skin test is recommended for each animal.
Fly-Repel™Spray is an insect repellent for amateur use, application being direct to the skin of horses, ponies and camelids with a cloth or a sponge. A skin test is recommended before initial use on each animal, avoiding the eye area. Four trigger pulls will cover 1x1 metre of skin (0.5ml/trigger pull).

I had previously purchased 2 500ml btles of this exact product at Harvesters Farm Supplies - on it it stated an application lasted 7 hrs as opposed to this larger supply from Viovet lasting up to 8hrs. More importantly I could smell the 7hr spray and it lasted close to the stated time and flies stayed away once I used it. Unfortunately the 8hr liquid didnāt smell them or deter flies at all. I may as well have no bothers applying it. I spent a lot of money investing in a larger amount but wonāt be doing this again

I have used many types, this one seems to have been best at controlling the number of flies, but doesn't stop them completely, less bites and itchiness but doesn't stop the persistent white tiny biting midges, they get everywhere....
