The Equilibrium Therapy Massage Pad is clinically proven lightweight pad, effective in improving back flexibility, increasing stride length and promoting relaxation. The pad is soft, pliable and almost silent in its operation. It conforms to the horse's shape and covers from withers and quarters. The pad cycles through three modes (pulse, stroke, oscillate) which horses love.

IMPORTANT NOTE: The Equilibrium Therapy Massage Pad, Battery and Charger have been updated with a new pad (launching in June 16), new battery and new charger. The new battery will fit the current navy Massage Pad and both the new grey Massage Pad and grey Massage Mitt. However the new silver Battery and multi-plug Charger will not work with the current navy Massage Mitt.

The new silver battery must only be charged with the new universal multi-plug charger. Therefore, if you need a new battery you will also need to purchase a new charger.

When do I use my massage pad? It depends why you are using the pad. If the horse is tense when ridden, use it beforehand to relax the horse. If the horse is stiff after exercise, use it once your horse is cool to relax the muscles. If you are using the massage pad to alleviate a more serious problem, use it in the evening, allowing the horse maximum time for relaxation afterwards.

How often should I use the massage pad to get the maximum benefits for my horse? We did clinical trials based on use for 30 minutes once a day, 6 days a week.

How tightly do I adjust the straps? The belly straps should be tightened no more than a loose girth. The tighter they are, the more robust the massaging action. If they are too loose, the vibration of the pad and the weight of the battery will cause the pad so slip sideways.

Would you use the massage pad on a sore back? No, I would work on the pain first based on veterinary advice and incorporating the magnetic back pad into the routine. Once the pain has subsided, the massage pad will help restore flexibility. An elastic surcingle may help hold the pad in place for the slightly rounder horse to prevent it slipping.

Can I turn my horse out in the massage pad? No, the massage pad is only designed for use in a stable. The horse should not be left free, but tied up once he is used to the pad.

Can I put a rug on over the massage pad? If necessary a light rug can be used over the pad, but it will need to be buckled up, and checked to make sure the vibration doesn’t cause slippage.

Care Instructions

If using on a horse with a damp or dirty back, place a dry towel underneath the pad. When necessary, wipe pad clean with a damp cloth. Do not wash the Massage Pad or allow the battery, controller or charger to get wet. We recommend disconnecting the battery between use.
Store in dry conditions.

Prices quoted are for delivery to all parts of mainland UK except certain Scottish postcodes (where the price is higher for items sent by courier. Temperature controlled products are also not always subject to the standard and/or free delivery options.

Delivery of aerosols

Due to restrictions aerosols can't be sent by Royal Mail. We appreciate your understanding.

Delivery of temperature controlled items

Some products, such as non-ambient items and frozen food, need to be delivered in insulated packaging to prevent them from getting too warm (or too cold) during transit from us to you. Purchasing any of these items in your order will result in a £1.99 charge being added to the total to cover the high cost of the insulated packaging materials. You only pay the £1.99 once per order, regardless of how many temperature controlled items you purchase in that order.

How do I cancel or return an order?

Please call us as soon as possible if you need to amend or cancel an order on 01582 842096. If your order has been processed for dispatch we will be unable to cancel or amend the order. You will however be able to return your product for a full refund*.

To return an item, you must contact us by phone or email to arrange this BEFORE posting any product back to us. We will explain the process at this stage for you.

Battery and charger

I have the original style pad from many years ago and need a replacement charger. Will this work? Thanks

Hi Lisa,

Thanks for your question. Unfortunately the new charger will not work with the older style Equilibrium Therapy Massage Mitt (navy in colour) and battery. If you need a new charger you would need to also purchase a new battery.
