INSTRUCTIONS

For external use only.

The minimum dose rate is 8 mg/kg body weight, or 1 tube per 2.5 kg body weight.

Cats:

1-2.5kg body weight = 1 tube

>2.5-5kg body weight = 2 tubes

>5kg body weight = 3 tubes

Tapeworming Made Easy

Spot-on use for external application to the skin. The cat should be accurately weighed prior to treatment to ensure that the correct tube size is used.

Remove one tube from package. Hold tube in upright position, twist and pull off cap and use the opposite end of the cap to break the seal.

Part the fur on the cat’s neck at the base of the skull until skin is visible. Place the tip of the tube on the skin and squeeze firmly several times to empty the contents directly onto the skin. Application on the base of the skull will minimise the ability of the cat to lick the product off.

To minimise the possibility of run-off after application of more than one tube, it is advised that the applications should be performed slowly to allow absorption and that it may be advisable to allows the contents of the previous tube to be absorbed before applying another.

Apply only to the skin surface and on intact skin. NOT to be administered by any other route.

Tapeworm infestation is certain to re-occur unless control of the intermediate hosts such as fleas, mice, etc. is undertaken.

Flea control: Flea infestations can be controlled by the regular use of effective flea control remedies.

Control of mice: If cats roam and hunt, contact with, and consumption of, mice and subsequent re-infestation with Taenia taeniaeformis is impossible to prevent.

It is recommended to re-apply Droncit Spot-On Tapewormer for Cats when signs of tapeworm infestation re-appear or at monthly intervals.

Is this suitable for eight week old kittens

Gail

Is this suitable for eight week old kittens

  • VioVet Staff

As long as your kitten is over 1kg then this is safe for use. You will likely find that your 8 week old kitten is under 1kg though, I suggest using Dronspot for Small Cats instead as this is safe for kittens over 8 weeks and 0.5kg. This also covers roundworms as well as tapeworms.

Whats the weight for the multi pack pipette?

Pravina Sonigra

Hi
What should the weight of the cat be for the multi pack option?

  • VioVet Staff

Each multipack comes with 4 pipettes, and each pipette treats up to 2.5kg of cat. You should dose a number of pipettes equal to the size of your cat. Below is a dosing guide:

tubes
Quantity of
Praziquantel (mg)

Difference between different cat wormer products.

Mike M

We have 3 cats between 4kg and 7kg. Can you tell me the difference between Droncit and Dronspot and when each is appropriate.
Currently we use Drontal every 2 months.
Thanks

  • VioVet Staff

Droncit Spot On only contains Praziquantel, which treats tapeworms.
Dronspot Spot On contains Praziquantel which treats tapeworm, but also emodepside which covers roundworms. Dronspot is the most similar product to the Drontal you currently use.

Frontline Plus and Drocit Spot together?

Frontline Plus and Drocit Spot

Hi. Can Frontline Plus and Droncit Spot be used at the same time or what is the recommended delay between the different treatments for cats. Thank you!

  • VioVet Staff

These can be used safely together at the same time. You should apply the products in 2 different places on the back of the neck. If your pet's neck is small then you may want to use the doses 1 week apart and apply in the same location.
