Dorwest now offer this quality source of turmeric herb (Curcumin) which is extracted from the whole root and contains 95% curcuminoids. Turmeric is extremely well documented and is widely used to support the body’s natural anti-inflammatory processes. The turmeric extract in these tablets is traditionally grown in its native region of Southern India using sustainable small farming methods and it is renowned for its purity and full traceability.
The natural bioavailability of turmeric is unfortunately quite low, however can easily be improved using two methods. The first is to give turmeric with a fatty substance, and as all balanced dog food contains fat this is easily solved by ensuring it is given with their meal. Secondly, absorption is easily improved by taking it with a compound found naturally in black pepper called piperine. One study has found that taking piperine along with curcumin can increase bioavailability by an incredible 2000%.
A patented form of piperine called Bioperine is included in this formulation to ensure bioavailability is maximised. Turmeric has grown in popularity and there are a number of ongoing studies into numerous other potential benefits of this exciting herb.

Bought for my 8yr old Dobermann with arthritis in her toes and wrists after years of squirrel hunting. I have certainly seen an improvement in her general fitness and a total cessation of her licking at her joints indicating that she no longer feels pain there after a day of running about. I have found that one in the morning and one in the evening is sufficient to provide relief for her. Very happy with the product and price from Viovet.

I have long been aware of the benefits of Turmeric so when Dorwest launched it at Crufts 2018 I decided to try it on Anja who is a 13 year old Keeshond. She is an active fun loving lass but I felt the benefits of Turmeric might enhance her comfort. The have certainly made a difference. She had now been on the tablets for two months and I can see the improvement in her mobility. she jumps in and out of our motorhome with ease and readily runs on our walks with the younger members of the family. she is playful and full of fun. I will definitely keep her on Turmeric from now on.

Is Tumeric for dogs safe to give with Yu move?
Julie,
It should be no problem to add Tumeric alongside YuMove. If you are interested Lintbells who make YuMove are considering adding it to their products but are holding fire due to a lack of scientific proof currently and there being no specific guidlelines as to which of the 133 species Tumeric actually works best as an anti-inflammatory. What would be the daily dosage for a Labradoodle weighing 42KG ??
Your dog would need 3 tablets daily. Please see dosage information below:
Administration: Small dogs and cats <10kg: 1 tablet, Medium dogs 10 - 25kg: 2 tablets; Large & GIant dogs >25kg 3 tablets. Recommended to be given for a minimum of one month. For the first week it can be advisable to start at a lower dose and build up.
