Description

ReguTum™ Probiotic Paste is specially formulated, highly palatable and easy to use. It combines three core ingredients that work together to help support gut function and aid in maintaining the natural microflora balance in dogs and cats.

  • Bentonite clay is a natural binding agent that helps to firm up the faeces and supports the intestinal lining.
  • The high level of probiotics in the form of Enterococcus faecium maintain a good level of beneficial bacteria in the gut.
  • Fructo-oligosaccharides (prebiotics) provide nourishment for the probiotics and other friendly bacteria.

ReguTum™ Probiotic Paste comes in user-friendly, calibrated syringes for simple administration. Either give directly or mix into food. Can be used alone or along with medication prescribed by your veterinary surgeon.

For long-term digestive support, we'd recommend trying ReguTum™ Fibre Care.

The oil base of ReguTum™ Probiotic Paste preserves the probiotic bacteria, and they are activated only after they are ingested and reach the small intestine.

Directions for use

I always keep a tube of this with my pets first aid kit, I have two large breed dogs both over 40kg, only occasionally they get upset tums and this helps within 48hours. Works well as a cheaper alternative to Prokolin Protexin
The measured dose syringe is easy to use, I have fussy dogs so I squeeze mine on to some ham or cheese when needed.

This product worked for us. My Mum has an elderly cat (~13) who has suffered "Mr Whippy" stools for years and with this product his stools are finally shaping up. However, we were so delighted we bought the largest size of product, and it comes in a much bigger syringe...too big for his mouth, and 5ml is the minimum measurable dose on the syringe although he was recommended 3ml for his weight. Had to order more in a smaller size. So, we've wasted money, and want to warn others not to do the same.

I have bought different probiotic pastes for my dogs in the past but this is the one I always come back to. It's the only one they eat straightforward. It has the best consistency ,thick and homogeneous and most of all it works! I highly recommend .

IBD. Help

Kallie

my dog has never had firm stools always been extra soft with always fluid or Mucas after them. Been to vet several times. I know sometimes she is in pain. vet has reccomend all sorts of food. I now have a mountain of stuff that she won't eat or does not help. latest suggestion is prebiotics+probiotics. can't find either of them in a food that is reasonable priced. she is now five years old and has suffered since she came to me at 4 months. very very fussy eater..

  • VioVet Staff

A probiotic gut supplement is a good idea. I recommend either ReguTum Gastrointestinal powder or ReguTum Fibre Care powder instead of this paste though, as they are more suited for long term use. If you have not tried fibre to help control the issue then the Fibre Care powder may be more preferrable.
It is always best to follow your vet's advice primarily though. IBD can have a food intolerance component that is worth ruling out with specialist diets.

Hepatitis

Silver

  • VioVet customer since 2015
  • From: , United Kingdom

Is this ok for a dog with chronic hepatitis and chronic anal gland issues? She is on milk thistle (Denemarin) for liver support, I need a probiotic, after far too many antibiotics in the last year and something to harden her motions to help the anal glands.

  • VioVet Staff

Yes ReguTum paste is a great probiotic. It is more suited for short term use so if you need more long term support then I suggest ReguTum Gastrointestinal Powder or ReguTum Fibre Care Powder.
I suggest the Fibre Care Powder as this can assist with anal gland issues. There is nothing within that should specifically be an issue with Chronic Hepatitis however I recommend running the use of it past your vet to be certain.

24 December 2022 at 1:04pm

Sho this be used every day. I give my 4yr old 8kgs Cavapoo 3ml each day and has defnitely worked

susie bowers

i wondered if this is necessary and or safe to use everyday or just until soft poos return. he is a very fussyeater except for treats and rubbish?

  • VioVet Staff

This can be used daily, and it should be used until the stools are of normal cossitency again. If it is taking 5 to 7 days or more for the stools to normalise then it is advised to contact your vet as there may be an underlying cause that needs resolving.
If you wish to use a probiotic in the long term then I suggest a product like ReguTum Gastrointestinal powder or ReguTum Fibre Care powder instead as both of these are more suited to long term use.

Acid in dogs

Carol Mawdslet

My dog is suffering from acid stomach, what would you recommend to help. The vet gave her an injection and some Omeprazole and it helped but its back again.

  • VioVet Staff

If your dog suffers from Acid Reflux then a probiotic supplement like this is worth trying. Excess stomach acid is often related to diet too, it is advised to split the feeds up so that the periods of starvation between meals are as small as possible. For example try feeding half the evening meal just before bed and ensure breakfast is given as soon as your dog is awake.
If persistent then long term prescription medications may be necessary.

Soft poo

Paul

Will this help my dogs tummy he's had soft poo but not diarrhoea for a fee day's. He's eating something he shouldn't have (fox poo I think)
Thanks

  • VioVet Staff

Yes this is a great choice for short term soft stools/diarrhoea. It contains probiotics that help settle the normal gut microflora and stool firmers to normalise stool consistency. You should see a significant improvement after 3 to 5 days of daily dosing, if you don't then it is advised to get in touch or see your vet.

Shelf life once opened

Rachel

Hi, how long does it last once opened? Do you need to use up in certain period of time?

  • VioVet Staff

Once opened this product will keep until the best before date on the syringe. It should be stored at room temperature. You may need to dispose of the tip of the product if it has been exposed to the air as it can dry out, the rest further in the syringe should be safe for use though.
