I bought this as my Shetland has a very mild dust allergy and Occasional cough. I offer it to him whenever i hear he has a tickle .He laps it up without any hesitation straight from a spoon and hey presto,Happy Little Shetland and no cough.Really worthwhile Product.Thank you!

This is a great product. My 25 year old cob has an allergy at certain times of the year and especially when he starts to have hay in the winter. He has also started to cough every time he is out for a hack too which was limiting what he was able to do. So I purchased this syrup which I give a tablespoon to him just before we go out for a hack and we have not heard a cough since, cannot believe the difference it has made to him. He loves taking it off of the spoon too and licks his mouth to get every last bit. My only negative is that it is rather runny and tends to get a bit messy when opening tub etc, but this is a small price to pay when you sum up how effective it is. It really works for us and I will certainly buy some more. It smells like human cough syrup too.

Would it be alright to give this throat syrup to my 11 year old male Labrador who often has to clear his throat or have you anything else

It is difficult to say if this is a suitable product for dogs, so I would not be able to recommend it. The flavour as much as anything else might not be appreciated by a dog. I expect that if you tried a tiny amount at a time at first, you could guage if your dog accepts it and it helps. There is a common problem in older Labradors which can cause this type of symptom. It causes a weakness of the muscles at the opening of the larynx, so affected dogs tend to make more noise when inhaling (especially if breathing heavily) and will seem to clear their throat often at other times. If your dog has this problem, the syrup is unlikely to make any difference. Have you asked your vet to check this out? Ideally you should.
