Dermocanis Shampoo is unique cleansing shampoo containing Borage Oil, a naturally occurring highly refined source of essential fatty acids (EFAs). EFAs are known to be vital for the maintenance of optimal canine health, demonstrated in a superb coat and skin. In particular, Dermocanis' high Gamma Linolenic Acid (GLA) content has proven benefits for skin quality.
How to use Dermocanis Shampoo:
Before you shampoo your dog, groom the coat throughly to reduce the change of matting. Then soak your dogs coat with tepid water. Keep applying water until it is throughly wet through to the skin.
Shake the bottle well before use and apply sufficient quantities of Dermocanis shampoo depending on coat thickness and size of your dog. Take care to avoid the eyes and nose.
Massage the shampoo into the coat until a slight foam is formed. Leave the shampoo on the coat for three minutes. It is important that you time this period correctly to make sure the active ingredients can do their work.
Afterwards rinse thoroughly, using tepid water, until the foam is completely removed. Remove excess water from your dogs coat by patting it with a dry towel and then groom gently.
Unless your vet has recommended otherwise, it is usually advisable to use the shampoo 2 to 3 times a week intially, and then slowly reduce the number of applications. In dogs with very dry or sensitive skin, regular use of the shampoo, every 1 or 2 weeks, is recommended.
Advice on the use of Dermocanis or other products should be sought from your veterinary surgeon. Dermocanis contains essential fatty acids from borage oil. My dog has a large lipoma and cannot stand an operation to remove it, so needs a low-fat diet. My vet recommended a change from Viacutan capsules because of their high fat content which, although excellent for her sensitive skin, could be aggravating her lipoma. However, we have had results with the shampoo just as good as with the capsules. It is undeniably expensive but there are ways of economising, such as mixing a teaspoon of shampoo with lukewarm water in the bottom of the kitchen sink, and washing your dog with that, leaving for 3 minutes or a bit longer (take your dog for a little walk) and then rinsing it off. The testing time will be in the spring when she is more prone to skin allergies.

After only one use my Westie has stopped biting and licking his legs and feet. He also had black flakes in his coat from his skin which have completely gone. He still bites at his legs occasionally but nowhere near as much and after another bath, stops again.
