Cosequin Equine is a joint health supplement that slows the breakdown of cartilage to maintain joint health and ease of movement. This supplement also protects horse's joints by reducing cartilage breakdown and stimulating it to produce compounds that keep it healthy
There are three key ingredients that make Cosequin Equine a complete joint health supplement:
Glucosamine Hydrochloride
Used to form vital components of the cartilage structure that provides a smoother surface for easier movement.
Chondroitin Sulphate
A key component of cartilage that helps keep it strong and blocks the enzymes responsible for cartilage breakdown.
Manganese Sulphate
A compound that helps prevents harmful enzyme activity.
Cosequin Equine is the only joint supplement on the market to contain the patented combination of Glucosamine HCl (FCHG49®) and low molecular weight Chondroitin Sulphate (THR122®), alongside Manganese Sulphate and has over 50 published articles demonstrating safety, bioavailability and efficacy.
The low molecular weight of Chondroitin Sulphate (TRH122®) ensures it can be absorbed from the gut into the bloodstream and ultimately, into joint tissue. Studies have shown that Cosequin Equine's unique formulation of Glucosamine HCl, Chondroitin Sulphate and Manganese Sulphate is safe and effective in horses, and the combination of ingredients is more effective than when the ingredients are administered separately.
For oral administration. Add to daily feed.
Weight of horse Initial Loading Maintenance
<300kg 2 level scoops 1 level scoop
twice daily per day
300-600kg 3 level scoops 1-2 level scoops
twice daily per day
>600kg 4 level scoops 2 level scoops

Initial Loading Programme:
Feed recommended amount daily for 2-4 weeks
Maintenance Programme:
After initial loading programme, reduce daily amount by 1 level scoop each week until the maintenance level is reached. This maintenance level can be used long term to support joint health. You may seek advice from your veterinary surgeon.

Cosequin Equine has a 4 year shelf life from the date of manufacture. Once open replace the lid and store in a cool dry area. Stored correctly Cosequin Equine will last until the Best Before End date even if it has been opened

This has helped my 28yr old gelding beyond belief. He has Navicular (diagnosed at 12) He started going generally down hill after last years hard dry summer. I started giving him this (almost as a process of elimination) The response is remarkable... heās back out 3 times a week 4-8 miles at a time, you would never had known heād had do much trouble, hes comfort and sound enough for what heās doing at his ripe age! My girl is 28 and was diagnosed with arthritis about five years ago, she had been on pain relief from the vet ever since and joint supplements, however after last summer weather and hard ground and the mud this winter she seems to have gone downhill the vet has saved d to retire her, which I will , her comfort is paramount,
My question is would this supplement improve her quality of life?
This is a joint supplement which may be similar to what you are already on. It is worth discussing this with your vet. If your horse is not on a joint supplement though then it is a great idea to be on one, like this, to help support the arthritis.
