The Comfy Collar is the ideal alternative to the traditional Elizabethan (lampshade) collar, and is one of the best new products we've come across! It acts as an inflatable donut that fits around your pet's neck, preventing your pet from fussing stitches, wounds or other skin irritations, and aids buoyancy in water.
The Comfy Collar is made of an inflatable inner tube (high frequency welded PVC, with a 7mm inflation valve and integrated non-return valve), placed in a tough, washable protective cover, produced in PVC coated jersey. It is fitted with a zipper located on the outside, an adjustable velcro strap and 3 loops placed on the inner ring to attach to a collar.
May not be suitable for all kinds of dogs/conditions

This item is well made apart from the tube for inflation according to instructions it has to be blown up by mouth ( no chance) luckily I had an electric air pump that worked ok,but when I put it on the dog she refused to wear it she just stood in her cage and would not move took it off tried several times and still the same reaction so it's back in the box

this collar was much more comfortable than the Elizabethan collar it gave more freedom but still kept the wound safe

very easy to use

My dog find the collar very comfortable, and no restriction through doorways or narrow spaces. After a serious operation, it has prevented her from chewing or licking her wound. One thing - make absolutely sure the collar is fully inflated! To start with, it wasn't fully inflated and so did not prevent her from chewing her wound. She has scratched the collar without causing any damage.

The comfy collar would have been great had it been delivered when it was stated to be delivered. Needed it for an emergency for my dog hence paying more for express delivery yet it came later than even the standard delivery stated without any sort of an apology.
I will be holding on to it for the future as hopefully it will be more comfortable than the plastic cones issued by vets but unfortunately my pet couldn't get that comfort when it was needed.
I would recommend the product but not from viovet as customer service was what let them down

Wondering if this will helps stop my American Bully stop excessively grooming his abdomen and inner thigh. He has been to the vets and its been thoroughly investigated. Seems to be bordem/anxiety when left alone.
This collar will help prevent licking of the abdomen/body and upper legs but it may still allow licking of the feet. The inner thigh should be safe though and so this would be a suitable collar.

Hi, would this collar stop my dog from reaching her stitches after being spayed? Thanks
Yes this collar would prevent your dog licking their belly/abdomen area. It will not prevent the feet being licked, but the spay wound will be on the belly/abdomen so this isn't an issue.

My 21 week old Golden Retriever is having her eye operated on next week (cherry eye), will this collar stop her from scratching her eye with a back leg?
The Comfy Collar is great to prevent your dog licking areas of their body and it usually prevents scratching of the face with their feet. However it will not prevent them rubbing the sutures around the eye on surfaces in your house and so is not appropriate post Cherry Eye surgery. 'Lampshade'/'Victorian' Buster collars are better for this purpose.

I need to find a way to stop our Staffie from licking his paws and legs when he's left alone; will this do the job, or should I be buying a soft cone instead? One of the reviews said that it didn't work for paws.
Hi Trish,
Thank you for your message.
I would suggest using a bigger cone around the face as this particular one does not stop a dog getting to its paws.
Please find a link below to the one we recommend: https://www.viovet.co.uk/James_Steel_Comfy_Cone/c4250/?sct_t=1507899982&sct_q=cone&sct_r=1
If your dog is excessively licking and causing damage to the skin, we would advise consulting your vet as there may be an underlying cause.
I hope this helps.

Do you measure dogs neck as you would do a collar ?
Yes, you should measure the circumference around the animals neck and match that up to the size given for the product.

Do the comfy collars come in ranges for cats
The Comfy Collar is suitable for both dogs and cats, there is no separate collar just for cats. You will need to measure around your cat's neck to get the correct size and match up against the sizes on the website. Cats will usually take either the extra small or small collar.
