Change from puppy food to adult?

Sam Mansfield

I have a Cockapoo that is 7.5 months is he ok to stay on the puppy/junior for now? What age should he change to adult food? He loves vets Chuddleys!

  • VioVet Staff

Unless the packaging states a specific age to switch then it is usually advised to move onto an adult food at around 12 to 15 months of age for a Cockapoo, depending on the size. Essentially your dog needs to be fully grown before moving onto an adult diet.

My Labrador puppy is 9 months and I’m not sure which one would be better the chudleys puppy/junior or chudleys working dog .

  • VioVet Staff

I recommend using a puppy/junior diet until your dog is fully grown. For a Labrador this will likely be around 12 to 18 months but can be earlier. You can start transitioning from a puppy to adult diet, like the working dog diet, at around the 12 month mark.
