How To Use

Weigh your pet before treatment to accurately establish the correct dosage. You can do this by weighing yourself, and repeating whilst holding your pet, on the bathroom scales. The difference is the weight of the pet. Worming Syrup may be given directly into the corner of the mouth, or mixed in a little food. The remainder of the meal should be given afterwards, to ensure all syrup is taken. Shake the bottle before use. Remove lid and fit dispensing pump. Prime the pump by slowly depressing the plunger 5 times. Once primed, each ‘pump’ depression administers sufficient syrup for 0.9kg bodyweight. For every additional 0.9kg of bodyweight, an extra single pump volume should be administered. The majority of puppies are born with worms, and kittens can become infected while suckling from mum. Therefore, puppies and kittens should be treated for roundworms at 2 weeks of age. They should be retreated at 4, 6,8,10 and 12 weeks old, and thereafter at 2-3 monthly intervals. Adult dogs and cats should be treated at 3 monthly intervals. Nursing females should be wormed at the same time, and as frequently, as their puppies and kittens, until weaning.

Hi my dog is 15kg how many pumps should I give him. He won't take tablets that's why iv chose this thanks

  • VioVet Staff

This product is intended for use in puppies and kittens, you will need to give a large dose of liquid for your 15kg dog (13.5mls). Once primed each pump provides 1.1ml so you will need to give 12 pumps per dose for your 15kg dog.
The product will also only treat roundworms and tapeworms, for this reason I recommend using a combination wormer instead such as our own brand TermaWorm. Unfortunately there are no worming syrups that will treat roundworms and tapeworm together but you can crush tablets like TermaWorm into wet food or treats.

Can I use this as a prevention for a 10 year old dog
He will not take tablets

  • VioVet Staff

I would recommend using an adult wormer for your 10 year old dog. You will need to give a very large volume of this syrup which will be very difficult to do. Most adult worming tablets can be crushed into wet food so shouldn't be too hard to give. Please let us know if you would like information on specific wormers or a flea/worming plan.
