Description

Beaphar One Dose Wormer for Large Dogs is a safe and effective wormer for the routine control of common roundworms and tapeworms found in pet dogs in the UK. Beaphar One Dose Wormer for Large Dogs is a UK authorised veterinary medicinal product.

How To Use

Adult dogs should be wormed routinely every 3 months. The most common tapeworm of the dog is transmitted by the flea, so attention should also be paid to flea control. It is important to worm puppies very regularly for roundworm at 2 weekly intervals from the age of 2 weeks to 8 weeks. Worming should then be carried out at 12, 16 and 24 weeks of age. Thereafter, the adult regime of 4 times per year is recommended. Nursing females should be treated at the same time and as frequently as puppies up to 12 weeks of age.

Tablets should be given whole with about one fifth of the daily food ration in the morning when the dog’s stomach is empty. The remaining food should be given in the evening.

Weigh your pet before treatment to accurately establish the correct dosage. You can do this by weighing yourself, and repeating whilst holding your pet, on the bathroom scales. The difference is the weight of the dog. DOSING INSTRUCTIONS: It is important to follow the instructions carefully. For routine treatment of puppies and adult dogs, give one tablet per 10kg (22lbs) bodyweight. The following table provides a dose guide: Dog's Weight 6.1 - 10kg - 1 tablet 10.1-20kg - 2 tablets 20.1 - 30kg - 3 tablets 30.1 - 40kg - 4 tablets For dogs weighing more than 40kg (88 lbs), give one additional tablet for every extra 10kg (22lbs) in weight. For dogs weighing less than 6.1kg (13.2lbs), use Beaphar One Dose Wormer for Small Dogs and Puppies.

Ideal for worming in one dose, especially for older dogs who are expert on not taking tablets, these are small and smooth and go down easy.

Suitability

KB

Is this wormer suitable for a large 6 month old 32 kg puppy , if not which wormer do you recommend ?

  • VioVet Staff

Yes the Large Dogs (20-40kg) dose would be suitable for your 32kg 6 month puppy. However we recommend using our own brand TermaWorm XL instead, 1 tablet treats 35kg and the tablets are palatable so may be easier to give.

Safe for Pancreatitis

Julie

Hi. Are these OK to give my dog who suffers from Pancreatitis? Thank you.

  • VioVet Staff

It is usually recommmended to keep up routine wormer even if your dog has pancreatitis. However in severe cases even the slightest change in diet can set off an episode, we recommend running the use of the medication past your vet just to be safe.
