Duke had been suffering from discharge from both eyes. I had taken him twice to vets, been checked and couldn't see any reason for it.
Since using these drops daily it has almost cleared after 7 days of using. Will definitely buy again. A little goes a long way. Great value for money.

Frequency

Hi,
How many times a day can I apply the lotion?

  • VioVet Staff

This depends on how you are using the product. If it is to soothe an irritation then I would apply at least twice daily, up to four times daily if necessary. If you are using it to wash the eye then once or twice in total will be enough.

Directions on eye lotion

Tom

Hi, I recently brought this product for my dog because he has a sore eye and basically I read the instructions on how to put it into his eyes and it said place in the corners of the eye, anyway I placed one drop into one of his eyes and it went onto his pupil by accident. Now I'm getting worried if it has damaged them. So would this harm them in anyway. Than you.

  • VioVet Staff

Unknowingly you have actually applied the drops exactly as they are intended to be administered. The idea is that you apply the drops to the corner of the eye then the dog blinks and spreads the lotion across the eye (and pupil) where it will soothe irritated eyes. It is perfectly safe to do this and you should not be concerned at all.

Can this be used to clear up conjuntivitis in dogs?

  • VioVet Staff

Conjunctivitis is usually caused by a bacterial infection so you will require an eye ointment with an antibiotic in it to clear it up. These ointments are all prescription only so you would need to see a vet to get a prescription. Once you have a prescription we would be happy to supply you with the appropriate medication. Beaphar eye lotion does not contain antibiotic. If the eyes are just irritated rather than infected this lotion may help but it is usually best for a vet to have a look at any eye conditions as they can escalate quite quickly if not treated properly.

Eye infection

Rujima

Hi,

My kittens are 6 weeks old and they all have eye infection since birth. I have been wiping there eyes with a cotton bud and warm water which takes off the dried up sleep but it comes back again within 2/3 hours and they can't open there eyes again.
Please can you recommend any sort of eye medication for them?

  • VioVet Staff

It sounds as if they should have an antibiotic ointment and these have to be prescribed by your vet. If this is not possible, then regular, frequent cleaning with CleanOcular would be my suggestion. Do they have a nasal discharge too? If so, they need antibiotic ideally.
