Description

Beaphar Anti Ringworm Spray is an effective, veterinary strength medicine containing miconazole to treat ringworm and fungal skin infections on small animals.

Symptoms of fungal skin infections include incomplete moulting, skin discolouration and hair loss leaving rough areas of skin. Beaphar Anti Ringworm Spray is ideal for use at any time of year.

  • Suitable for rabbits, guinea pigs and rats weighing more than 200g.

IMPORTANT: DO NOT USE ON ANIMALS WEIGHING LESS THAN 200g AS THIS COULD RESULT IN OVERDOSING.

We recommend treating all the animals in the cage or hutch at the same time.

How to Use:

  • Wear gloves when applying.
  • Weigh your pet carefully before application and use the following table to calculate the correct dose.
Apply 5 pumps (1ml) of Beaphar Anti Ringworm Spray per kg of bodyweight.
  • 1. Spray the affected area at a distance of 5–10cm until the skin is damp.
  • 2. Repeat treatment 1–2 times per day until the condition improves. Use for up to 14 days.
If the condition has not improved within 14 days, consult a veterinary surgeon.

Safety & Storage:

Store below 25°C out of sunlight. Protect from frost. Store in the original container. Keep away from food and drink, including animal feeding stuffs. Once empty, dispose of the bottle in the household rubbish. ALWAYS FULLY READ THE PRODUCT LABEL AND PACKAGING BEFORE USE.

Safe to use around eyes?

Rosy

Is the anti ring worm safe to spray on the guinea pigs face area near eyes?

  • VioVet Staff

This product is safe to use if applied as directed onto the skin. It should not be applied into the eyes, if it cannot be guaranteed to not enter the eye then I would avoid treating this area.
You can get oral ringworm treatments via a written prescription from your vet, this may be more appropriate if the ringworm is located here.

Suitable for cats?

amanda mcintosh

can i use this spray on my cat for ringworm

  • VioVet Staff

Beaphar Anti Ringworm Spray is only licensed for use in exotic pets which includes guinea pigs, rabbits and other small mammals. It is not licensed for use in cats but this does not necessarily mean it cannot be used in cats. You will need a written prescription from your vet to purchase this product for your cat.
If you are looking for a feline licensed ringworm treatment then I advise Itrafungol. This also requires a written prescription though.
