A brilliant product - safe, easy to use and effective. We've use this product to protect our four sheep as they graze near marshes, so flies can be a problem at times. One 500ml spray seems to last sufficiently for a few applications when needed, especially in the Spring and early Autumn. Worth every penny.

I was a little sceptical on my first use but it had instant results, its made using natural plant derivatives but it managed to clear my lamb with two good doses.

How many sheep will a 500ml do?

  • VioVet Staff

Hello,

Thank you for getting in touch.

It does all depend on the condition of the animal and if they are in a wet area but 500ml will usually treat around 10 fully grown animals where some scarring is evident.

Hope that helps,

VioVet.

How long does the blow fly repel last?

Lisa Waite

I bought this product from you but theres not any details of how long it lasts once rid of maggots? Theres no blow flies going on now but don't want to be back where there gonna be landing n laying maggots again. Had lots of rain n wondered if the barrier blow fly lasted for a period of time please?

  • VioVet Staff

I do not think it has a very persistent effect, especially after lots of rain. You might need to reapply it if flies start to become more active again. Obviously it is important to try and keep the rear end of the sheep clean and dry, so clipping any mucky individuals and watching how things are going is vital..
