The disinfectant spray can be used on hard surfaces inside and outside the home, eliminating strong odours quickly and working to kill bacteria before it spreads. Barrier V1 Disinfectant is manufactured using only concentrated plant derivatives that are entirely non-toxic, even in concentrated form. Fast turnaround where immediate access and re-stocking is necessary. Apply to all internal structures, walls, ceilings, floors and posts, manually through a knapsack sprayer or through a pressure washer, orchard sprayer or similar. Independently tested at 1:40 parts water against a wide range of other organisms and has an effective kill rate against a wide range of bacteria including all types of Salmonella, E Coli, monocytogenes and Aspergillus

I first bought some from my homeopathic vet many years ago. On his recommendation when I had an elderly and ill dog. It has a lovely clean and natural smell, and good cleaning qualities but I know that when I use it to wash my floors etc and clean up pet accidents of all kinds , I am not leaving harmful chemicals on the floor to hurt them or damage the environment

I wanted a product that would disinfect and remove the smell of urine on artificial grass and obviously also pet friendly. I keep this by the door and use straight away; it's got a lovely smell and I have noticed an improvement in any residual smell on the artificial grass. I have ordered the bigger bottle and mix up the solution myself.

Barrier V1 is an excellent disinfectant in every way. Easy to use, with a pleasantly aromatic smell, it has no harmful chemicals which might affect animals or people. I use it to disinfect my chicken coop, drinkers and feeders, and also in my kitchen, where it's equally useful for spraying down worktops. A little goes a long way, and once diluted, a litre bottle lasts for ages.

Can I check if this is a defra approved disinfectant for use against avian flu please?
This product has been shown to work against viruses but has not been tested against Avian Flu ijn particular so it cannot be guaranteed to combat this. If you are looking for a disinfectant that is DEFRA tested proven effective against Avian Influenza then I advise using Animal health Defence 7.

Barrier V1 is made from natural and non toxic plant oils, and is described by the manufacturer as "tested at a dilution rate of 1:40
parts water against a wide range of organisms and has an effective kill
rate against a wide range of bacteria including Salmonella (all types)
and E. Coli."
They also say "Ideal to use in professional kitchens or in food handling areas. Ideal for use on utensils and food preparation surfaces."
We believe it has been tested and was effective on viruses, although the types have not been specified. With regards to Coronavirus, we believe it is not yet available for manufacturers to test their products with, so would be unable to advise whether or not this product is guaranteed to be effective against it.
