Aviform Suppleaze Gold for Horses

  • 250g Tub £21.49

Super concentrate joint supplement for all horse and ponies, containing the optimum ratios of marine Chondroitin, Gluscosamine HCl, MSM and high levels of Hyaluronic Acid, and no fillers or bulkers.

When choosing your equine joint supplement, check the level of ingredients per dose carefully. Pay particular attention to levels (and source) of the costly ingredients such as chondroitin. If the correct ratios are not given, the benefits are greatly reduced.

How long will a 250g tub last

  • Veterinary Advisor

It depends on the weight of your horse and whether your horse requires a maintenance dose or a little extra help due to reduced mobility or challenged joints. For an average 500kg horse on maintenance dose a tub would last 50 days. The initial 30 day loading dose is more though with a tub lasting 12.5 days.

Aviform Suppleaze Gold for Horses safe for laminitics

Hello, is this product safe to feed horses with controlled cushings or prone to laminitis? Thanks.

  • Non-Executive Director

That is a good question and the answer is not known. It is unlikely to have a significant effect on either of the conditions you mention, but theoretically it certainly could. Glucosamine is a type of sugar and increasing the dietary intake of any sugars could affect glucose metabolism within the body. This could certainly affect "Cushing's disease" or laminitis. Personally I feel that the amount given in normal doses would not be likely to have any such effect, but we cannot know for certain. This is where the potential cost/benefit judgment has to be made and you need to decide which of the conditions seems to be most important and takes precedence. Personally I would probably not give this supplement in fact, but that is just an opinion.

Suppleaze / vetroflex

Suppleaze /Vetroflex can I feed both of these to my horse ? If not which is best for stifle problems .

  • Non-Executive Director

It would be safe to give these two products together. Although the actual ingredients are different, they both are intended to work in a similar way. There is not enough independent scientific research to say how much benefit you can get from either product, but anecdotally they do seem to help and are safe, either alone or together. You will not be overdosing by doing both, though the additional benefit you might get from doing that is impossible to quantify.
