Dogs eating dog poo

Pat

I have been told that if your dog takes Brewers yeast they will stop eating dog poo etc, can you give dog human Brewers yeast tablets

  • VioVet Staff

It would be best to give specific dog brewers yeast since it has been especially formulated to meet the nutritional needs of dogs. It is possible that your dog is eating poo due to lack of essential vitamins and minerals in the diet so brewers yeast may help if this is the case for your dog. However if your dog is already on a good quality diet this is less likely to be the cause and it is unfortunately more likely to be a habit. You may be able to find some good advice on breaking the habit on www.apbc.org.uk.
