Hot News - Advantage, No Prescription Needed!
If you are scratching to find the right flea treatment then the great news is that the VMD (Veterinary Medical Directorate) has declared that Advantage no longer needs a prescription.

Advantage is one of the most effective and safe treatments to treat fleas on dogs, cats and rabbits.
Available as a spot on, it is easy to apply and treats the whole animal. One application is normally effective at treating fleas for 4 weeks on dogs, 3-4 weeks on cats, and one week on rabbits. Fleas normally die 24-48 hours after contacting the product. Biting lice on dogs are also killed.

A few weeks ago we thought it would be interesting to see who visits your gardens. We asked our facebook friends and newsletter readers (here) to submit birds in their garden.
Martin Hussey took some amazing images of a blue tit family. This picture received the most 'likes' on our facebook page.
The robin picture is also fantastic so it deserved a mention and a thank you to Heather Maryson who should get her picture made into Christmas cards!

We hope that the competition has inspired people to remember that birds need food and water to survive.

Cassie - Abandoned in Swindon

Last week VioVet asked for donations and we thank everyone who has supported this cause. One customer even phoned VioVet and we talked her through transferring a paypal payment!

Cassie's Vet's bills has exceeded £389.00 and will be ongoing.

Latest Update. - Nov 17th - Clare's Report
"I saw Cassie today she was a little star as always, very waggy tail.
Her ear doesn't look too bad and the hair is starting to grow back around it.
The vet saw her on Monday and seems pleased in the most part that she is doing really well. Cassie is now on eye drops (eye infections have come back), pain relief and ear drops as well as regualr showers with special shampoo.
Tonight we will know a lot more about Cassie's health as the vet is calling me to discuss the results which have come back from the tests on her ear - we know its quite a complicated report and we know its likely not to be good news but we have our fingers crossed. Once we have the results I will be able to update you guys further. We wish to thank your VioVet customers for supporting Cassie.... we have worked out her current care is costing us £100.00 every 6 weeks with the operation (which included spay) came to £389.00 - we've raised enough to pay for the operation but if anyone would like to donate to her further care we will be sooooo grateful."

We are in desperate need of fosterers in the Swindon area especially if you do not have another dog as we have 3 dogs needing to come into rescue asap.
Homechecks will be required however these are painless and are necessary.Dottie is fantastic with cats and children just not other dogs.

Max was found tied to our gate one evening here and had a little medical condition with his skin but that has now been treated. He is a lovely quiet lad and sadly gets over looked in kennels…. Apparently he is not keen on small children…. But apart from that he is a lovely steady lad, very quiet and unassuming."
