Description

Nobivac DHPPi is our most commonly used routine vaccination for dogs. It provides protection against Canine Distemper, Hepatitis, Parvo virus and Para-influenza virus. It is supplied as a freeze-dried powder in single-use bottles and has to be diluted with either Nobivac Solvent or Nobivac Lepto 2 in order to also provide protection against Leptospirosis. A single injection of Nobivac DHPPi is sufficient to provide good immunity in most dogs any time from 10 weeks of age. Earlier vaccination can be given if the risk is considered significant, but a further dose must be given at or after 10 weeks of age. In some dogs, especially the very large breeds, adequate protection is more likely to be provided by vaccinating after 16 weeks of age, due to maternally derived immunity interfering with the vaccine.

Please note Nobivac Diluent (solvent) is NOT routinely included with this purchase. However you can purchase a Nobivac Solvent seperately.

Do you get a sticker with the vaccines to prove dogs had it for kennels xx to put on dogs record sheet

  • VioVet Staff

Yes, these vaccine vials come with a detachable sticker for use in vaccination cards. This record will need to be signed by your vet though to prove administration.

Legality of home inhjections

Anne

so is it legal for me to vaccinate my own dog at home - previously worked in vets and gave injections sub-cutaneously

  • VioVet Staff

Yes you can administer medications, including vaccinations, at home but only if your vet allows this. They are prescription only medications so your vet will need to write a prescription for you to purchase this through us, and they will only write this prescription if they feel you are safe giving the vaccination at home. For certain official vaccination records, such as passports or health certificates, your vet will need to perform the vaccination themself.

Vaccination enquiry

Hi
My pup was born 2.6.15 and received Nobivac DHPPi and Nobivac L4 batch c143d01 and A032a01 on 17.7.15. Please can you advise if this lasts 12mths?
Thanks
Claire

Your pup needs to go and have a course of 2 injections as soon as possible to be properly protected. The vaccines given are the correct type but if given at that young age, the DHPPi might only have a temporary effect. This will vary from dog to dog, but generally it needs to be given at a minimum of 10 weeks old to last for a year. The L4 needs to be given twice, with 2-4 weeks between the injections. I guess your dog was supposed to have a follow-up of the same vaccines when 10 weeks old, but that has failed. Now it is 2 visits you need, with the L4 on both, and with DHPPi on one of them.

My pup doesn't eat

Pomeranian pup

After injecting nobivac lepto and nobivac dhppi for my 3 month old Pomeranian pup doesn't eat .this is the first time we inject him after her birth. I would like to know is it common or any serious issue

  • VioVet Staff

The puppies of very small breeds are quite prone to mild vaccine reactions, where they become subdued for a while and do not eat well. If this persists then certainly a visit to the vets would be advised, but normally it passes after a few hours.
