Rehoming centre gets multitude of Maxes

Staff at Dogs Trust Glasgow recently realised that they had five animals called Max munching on dog food and looking for new homes.

In total, the charity has 14 dogs called Max. Sandra Lawton, manager of the Dogs Trust Glasgow Rehoming Centre, said that the charity has never had so many dogs of the same name at one time.

“It’s not unusual to have two dogs at the centre with the same name, but five is unheard of in the five and a half years since the centre opened. There are only 14 Maxes in total currently at the 17 UK Dogs Trust rehoming centres!” she said.

Ms Lawton added that Max is a very popular name as people like to give their pets human names because they consider them part of the family.

Two of the Maxes that were in the centre have been booked rehoming and should be going to live with their new families soon. However, the other three – a Labrador, Boarder Collie and Smooth Collie, are still looking.
