Description

A ready to use, pour-on solution. This product may be used as an aid in the control of sweet itch especially for the control of the biting insect Culicoides spp. Treatment should be started at the beginning of the Sweet Itch season and repeated as necessary. Once weekly should be sufficient for most horses. Contains permethrin 40mg/ml. Legal Category: AVM-GSL.

Please advise on how this is applied, is it a spray, wiped on or washed in?

APPLICATION GUIDE
Apply the measured dose in approximately equal proportions to the mane and rump avoiding the saddle area.

Treatment should be started at the beginning of the sweet itch season and repeated as necessary. Treatment once weekly should be sufficient for most horses.

If horses and donkeys are to be groomed, apply the product after grooming.

Do not treat the saddle area.

The product must not be applied forward of the ears.

Take care to avoid eye contact. In case of accidental splashing into the horse's eye, the affected eye should be washed thoroughly and immediately with copious quantities of clean water and veterinary attention sought.

Z Itch product: In addition to midges, does this control ticks/lice?

The active ingredient in Z-itch is Permethrin which has been shown to be effective against ticks and lice. However Z-itch is not licensed for this use and it has not been proven/disproven to protect against lice/ticks, it is only proven effective against midges.
