Suitable for horses and dogs, Vetasept Povodine Iodine is effective against a very wide range of bacteria and fungi. The antiseptic solution can be diluted for use on wounds or infected lesions on the skin or on horse hooves. The surgical scrub is for cleansing skin prior to surgery or in other situations where hygiene is of paramount importance. Not to be applied to the eye and not to be taken internally.
10% w/w povodine-iodine giving 1% w/w available iodine in an aqueous solution. Also contains alkyl phenol ether sulphate (ammonium salt), glycerol, citric acid, anhydrous disodium hydrogen phosphate and purified water.

I have a British bulldog that suffers terrible with very sore feet and crusty legs, this iodine is amazing.
I put a couple of drops in half a small bowl of warm water and soak each paw for a couple of minutes.

Excellent product, cleared angry red rash on tummy that had been present for weeks and not fully resolved with antibiotics and anti-fungals. Rash was a mixture of pustules, tiny open sores, red background and yeast spots all upon a red hot background. I use it diluted as directed for wound irrigation and cleanse once daily -would consider using undiluted if it had not eased the symptoms but wanted to start with the least concentration initially so as to keep as much good skin flora as possible. Will definitely buy again when run out. Prior to the had used product containing acetic acid and boric acid but this did not ease the symptoms.

What’s the best, non-stain, pawsoak/ wash for Border Terrier to stop paw licking because of outdoor environmental allergies? Thank you.
If diluted 1 part Povodine with 10 parts water then this product can be used to disinfect skin, including soaking feet. However it is unlikely to stop paw licking due to allergies like that of which you describe. I recommend reading our blog 'Allergies in cats & dogs - a vet guide' for moe information on what supplements can help the condition. However you should follow your vets advice first and foremost.

The "iodophors" are more effective and less irritant to the skin than the traditional tinctures of iodine. The Vetasept product is a good example of an effective product.
