Royal Canin Oral Hygiene Bars are specially formulated to prevent bad breath and the growth of dental plaque and tartar in dogs over 10Kg. Bad breath is caused by volatile sulphur compounds which are reduced by the zinc, eucalyptus and green tea polyphenols contained in the Oral Bars. Added Sodium polyphosphate chelate calcium ions making them unavailable for tartar to form. It is highly hydrophilic and will reach areas that aren't in direct contact with the Oral Bar whilst it's being chewed. Additionally, the Oral Bar's elastic texture has a mild abrasive effect which help to remove tand prevent tartar deposits and breaks down the biofilm structure of dental plaque.

Directions for use:
One Oral Bar Small Dog should be fed whole daily between
meals to maximise its efficacy on dental plaque.

RECOMMENDATIONS FOR USE:
Before recommending Oral Bar, an examination of the dog’s
oral cavity will detect any periodontitis responsible for dental
pain impairing mastication.

Ingredients:
Manioc, glycerol, vegetable fibre, saccharose, poultry liver,
sodium polyphosphate, mineral salts, eucalyptus oil,
decaffeinated green tea, zinc sulphate, vitamins.

	When chewed, the special very elastic texture of Oral Bar has a mild abrasive effect which breaks the biofilm (entangled bacteria) structure of dental plaque, helps remove tartar deposits and delays formation of new deposits.
	Sodium polyphosphate is a chelating agent that makes calcium ions (Ca++) unavailable for tartar formation. Because of its highly hydrophilic nature, polyphosphate can spread through the whole oral cavity, including areas that are not in physical contact with Oral Bar during mastication. Zinc facilitates calcium dissolution and slows down its incorporation into tartar.
	Bad breath is the result of bacteria produced Volatile Sulphur Compounds (V.S.C.). Ingredients in Oral Bar (zinc, eucalyptus and green tea polyphenols) reduce the production of Volatile Sulphur Compounds (V.S.C.).
