Renal Feline 23 is a complete food for cats with chronic renal insufficiency. It has been specifically formulated both to support and maintain health renal function and to reduce oxalate stone formation. It has a very low phosphorus content to prevent phosphorus retention. This can lead to secondary hyperparathyroidism and can also lead to renal failure. The food contains a special synergistic antioxidant complex which will help to boost your cat's natural defences, neutralise free radicals and maintain healthy cells and DNA. Omega 3 long chain fatty acids will help to support a lower glomerular pressure which will help to prevent GFR. Additionally, an increase in uraemia often causes the development of gastric or intestinal mucosal ulcers. This will be prevented with added FOS and zeolite.

Royal Canin Renal Feline Veterinary Diet

Veterinary diets are formulated for the nutritional support of specific clinical conditions and are recommended to be used under veterinary advice. For more information on feeding Renal to your cat, please consult your veterinary surgeon.

Renal is for the nutritional management of:

- Chronic renal failure (CRF)

- Management of calcium oxalate urolith recurrence in cats with impaired renal function

- Hepatic encephalopathy

- Prevention of recurrence of urolithiasis requiring urine alkalinisation: urate and cystine uroliths

Not recommended in cases of:

- Pregnancy, lactation, growth

	The kidneys are no longer able to eliminate phosphorus effectively which contributes to progression of the disease. Limiting the dietary phosphorus intake is an essential part of nutritional support.
	Added omega-3 fatty acids, EPA and DHA, helps maintain renal perfusion and GFR.
	The synergistic complex (vitamin E, vitamin C, taurine, lutein) neutralises free radicals, helps maintain the health of cells and DNA and supports the immune system.
	Increased uraemia may induce the formation of gastric and intestinal mucosal ulcers. The combination of zeolite and FOS helps protect the mucosa.
