< Back

Royal Canin Gastro-Intestinal Moderate Calorie is a complete food for adult cats with acute intestinal absorption disorders. Its low calorie content makes it also suitable for cats that are prone to being or are overweight. It can be used in cases of chronic and acute diarrhoea, inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), malabsorption, maldigestion, colitis, gastritis, bacterial overgrowth, exudative enteropathy or chronic pancreatitis. It has been specially developed to ensure that digestive health is restored and to encourage nutritional restoration and convalescence. Digestive health is supported with omega-3 long chain fatty acids. Digestive security will be maximised with carefully selected, highly digestible ingredients such as rice, beet pulp, fish oil, prebiotics and highly digestible LIP proteins. They will help to promote beneficial intestinal flora and to limit the growth of bad bacteria in the gut.The ingredients are also highly palatable to encourage cats to eat frequently and spontaneously. The moderate calorie and low fat content with increase electrolytes will ensure that your cat's weight is controlled despite this. The food also contains high energy levels which allow smaller meal sizes to not overload the stomach.

Good results

  • VioVet Customer Since: June 2012
  • From: Essex, United Kingdom
  • Pet's Name: Sooty
  • Species: Cat
  • Breed: Domestic shorthair cat

Prescribed by our vet for Sooty (18yrs old) following bout of pancreatitis. She isn't allowed any other food so we're relieved that she eats it quite happily, both dry biscuits and sachets. Almost a year now and she remains healthy. So five stars from us but only 4 stars from Sooty, it may be good but it isn't fresh chicken/haddock or any of the other things she (sadly) can't have any more .
