Meat and animal derivatives, fish and fish derivatives, minerals, derivatives of vegetable origin. Carbohydrate source: corn starch.

Uses
Dietetic food for regulation of glucose levels by offering a high level of protein and a low level of rapid glucose releasing carbohydrates.

MEDICAL INDICATIONS
• Diabetes mellitus
• Persistent hyperglycaemia
• Enteritis, diarrhoea

MEDICAL CONTRAINDICATIONS
• Renal failure
• Hepatic encephalopathy
• Reproduction, growth

CLINICAL CONSIDERATIONS AND DIETARY CHARACTERISTICS
• High concentration of dietary protein A diet formulated for the unique metabolic requirements of cats, which can help slow glucose release by providing substrate for glucose production from gluconeogenesis in the liver
• Low concentration of dietary carbohydrates To help reduces glucose release
• Enhanced antioxidants level Helping to reduce oxidative stress
• Source of Omega-3 fatty acid Helps control metabolic changes

ADMINISTRATION
It is important to closely monitor the cats glucose levels during the first weeks on Purina Veterinary Diets™ DM and adjust the dosage of insulin if necessary. Moreover, it is essential to feed the same amount of food at the same time every day. The recommended period of use is initially up to 6 months. As with any diet change, it is better to switch gradually over the course of five to ten days.
