Uses
Dietetic food with urine acidifying properties and low level of magnesium for the nutritional treatment and dissolution of struvite stones.

Medical Indications:
-Struvite associated LUTD
-Sterile struvite stones
-See annexes for stone management information

Medical Contraindications:
-History of calcium oxalate urolithiasis
-Simultaneous use of urine acidifiers
-Growth & Reproduction

Clinical Considerations & Diet Characteristics:
-Urinary acidification - reduces struvite crystals and uroliths formation
-Increased potassium - avoids risks of hypokalemia
-High digestibility - compensates for loss of appetite in some cats
-Increased taurine - a diet adapted to cats specificity
-Target Urinary pH (ad libitum) 6.1 (standard deviation 0.2)

Administration:
-As with any diet change, it is better to switch gradually over the course of five to ten days.
-Warming food can help enhance palatability for anorectic cats.
-You should provide the cat with small quantities of food several times a day in a quiet environment.
-Increased water consumption can help dilute the urine and further decrease the conditions that are conducive to crystal formation
-The recommended period of use is 5 to 12 weeks
