Dietary allergies and food intolerances are surprisingly common in cats. They usually develop in young or middle aged cats and can cause a variety of problems affecting the digestion as well as the skin. Usually they will be to one or more specific proteins in the diet. None of the dietary proteins which commonly cause these reactions are present in Hills Prescription Z/D Diets, so feeding the diet for at lease 6 weeks will allow the reaction to subside and the symptoms improve. | | | | Hills prescription diet feline z/d is for the nutritional management of cats with Food Allergy and Intolerance. Also called adverse reactions to food, they can cause serious skin and stomach problems in your cat. This condition is usually an abnormal response to a specific protein in food.
Hills prescription diet feline z/d Low Allergen has an exclusive ingredient called Hills Hydrolyzed Protein System, a process that eliminates animal intact proteins and significantly reduces the possibility of an adverse reaction to food. For cats, most allergic reactions occur as a result of beef, dairy products and fish, Hills Prescription Diet z/d Low Allergen eliminates these.
