Most cats with reduced kidney function will benefit from Hills k/d diet. Cats with poor kidneys are particularly sensitive to problems arising from eating too much protein, or proteins of lower biological value. Hills k/d is formulated to supply proteins which will not give the kidneys extra work to do. It also has increased levels of vitamins and carefully balanced minerals, all designed to benefit the kidney patient.
There are many causes for kidney disease resulting in an variety of uncomfortable and life threatening symptoms for your cat. Kidney disease can be either sudden (acute) or occur gradually (chronic).

Tinned k/d so much better than pouches!
9th May 2013- VioVet Customer Since: April 2011

My dear 18yr old cat was prescribed the k/d diet two years ago after being diagnosed with thyroid and kidney problems. Vets prices very high so found Viovet on line and have been a very satisfied customer since 2011. Prices and service great, but, have been struggling to get Megan to eat the pouches! I have to mash it up and put various treats on it to get her to eat it! This week I decided to try the tinned k/d.It arrived yesterday and when I put her dish down she immediately ate the lot and asked for more! What a relief, a happy cat and no more waste!

The vet has prescribed our cat, Charlie, with a restricted diet and having cringed at the price at the vets, I decided to look for it online and found it here! Was a bit concerned that the only 'flavour' was chicken but Charlie doesn't seem to mind and loves licking the gravy off first. Am ordering again as just about to run out and at the last check-up, the vet said he had put a little weight back on so good news. Also tried the salmon and Charlie likes that too.

K/D gets a 4 paws up rating

My little treasure Bilbo has been instructed by his wonderful vet (a.k.a. Uncle Ali) to go on the kidney diet as he is getting on a bit (17 years old in June) and his thyroid cancer medication is stressing his little body. We were worried about how well this would be received, but it was a needless worry as Bilbo has really loved the food and despite having very few teeth, he loves switching between the dry and wet food. As a cat guardian, it smells ok but I haven't tasted it myself! Bilbo's latest blood results have shown that his kidneys are working really well and are better than they have been in years. Thank you Hills for this wonderful diet, we should have many more years of love and furry hugs. Also thank you Viovet for your prompt deliveries. :)

Following a Veterinary consultation on our 15 year old neutered female cat, a slight kidney problem was diagnosed which required k/d biscuits to be included in her diet. Having checked on the Viovet website, I can purchase these direct from Viovet at a considerably reduced price. Pif enjoys the biscuits and I enjoy knowing I am treating her the right way at a fraction of the price!
