Stool Repel-UM is used to deter puppies and older dogs from the unpleasant habit of eating their own faeces, known as coprophagia. Although this is extremely distasteful to us, it is not an uncommon habit, especially in puppies. It generally does the dog no harm, but it is still an undesirable behaviour. Stool Repel-UM has a chicken flavour and is added to the dog food every day. It contains an enzyme to aid digestion, helping to make the stool less attractive as well as an agent which, when eaten from faeces, will irritate the mucus membranes slightly. This is harmless but slightly uncomfortable and dogs soon learn that eating their own stools is no longer as attractive.
