NETTEX summer Freedom is an advanced salve which helps repel and protect against insects and biting flies. This unique formulation also contains margosa (neem) and eucalyptus and has wonderfully soothing and disinfecting properties. Here are some top tips to get the most out of this Summer season:
Made in UK.
Key ingredients: NN- Diethyl-M-Tolumide 2.45%, Margosa extract 2.0%, Eucalyptus citriodora, hydrated, cyclized 0.64%
Apply directly to any area that has been affected or prone to attack using a clean sponge, ensuring sensitive areas are not missed e.g. around eyes, nose, muzzle and dock avoiding mucous membranes.
In most cases one application a week is sufficient. In severe cases if the itch, rub, scratch cycle has started it may need to be applied more regularly.
For best results prewash with NETTEX Everyday Shampoo before applying to remove any grease, dirt or debris and sanitise the skin.
Repeat application after heavy rainfall, bathing or heavy sweating. Do not use under saddlery areas or fly rugs as may cause irritation from sweating.
For maximum results apply as early as February to prevent midge attacks taking hold. The mane, tail and rump areas are most prone to attack.
All prices include VAT where applicable.

I have been trying allsorts to stop my Fell pony from rubbing his mane and tail this year. He had rubbed his face until it bled. As soon as I put this on his poll, ears and around his head and at the top of his tail, he stopped the dreaded itching. At first I put it on each morning for about three days along with his fly spray on his body and now I put it one every 3-4 days and its working! It also leaves a bit of light grease which I think helps repel flies/midges longer. The pot has lasted me about two months so well worth the cost compared to other sprays and potions that don't work as well on my pony!

I have used the product for years but recently have been very disappointed how expensive it has become. Through necessity I have found that I can use far less and it remains effective

thank goodness I did patch test though I wish I had covered a smaller patch…. within a few hours my horse reacted very badly and the skin started to ooze as if he’d been burned. He is a thin skinned thoroughbred and generally reacts badly to fly bites but this was something else. Not worth taking the risk with this product in my view. wish I’d taken photos… his skin is still flakey but the hair is growing back. I first applied the product 3 weeks ago.

Can this be used on the sheath area?
Hi there,
Thank you for your query.
This product is very safe and may be applied to the sensitive sheath and groin areas on your horse, but just ensure you give the site a good clean before application as this will help the product to sink into the skin and really break the itch cycle ready for this upcoming midge season.
I hope this helps.
