previous flexibility lead lasted 10yrs , until lead started fraying slightly, was still pleased with its value. this one has sligently different design which might make it even longer lasting. would have no doubts in recommending.

This product is quite simply, brilliant! Having bought other retractable leads in the past, ) and paid more for them and found them to be lacking in all aspects), I gave this one a try because the price was astonishingly cheap for such a quality brand of product.
The ratchet within the lead can be felt, and I cannot stress how superior it feels to the other brands of retractable lead I've tried. There is no delay in the retraction of the lead, and the tension is excellent - you can feel your dog all the time. The mechanism is soundless too!
Should your dog like to run in circles very fast as mine does, I have often been caught in a bit of a tangle, and suffered burns to my fingers trying to grab the lead because it hasn't wound in quickly enough to stop this happening with previous brands. With this lead however, as before said the retraction is instant so you don't get tangled, and the tape is soft yet holdable preventing burns :)
The attachable collar, that goes over the collar your dogs ordinarily wears, helps to combat pulling on the lead - simply pull the lead up or back quickly and your dog knows that your not happy being pulled.
This lead is light to carry and very comfortable to hold - although I'd have to admit that if my hand was any bigger I'd have trouble holding the handle. So, if your hand size is larger than medium for rubber gloves, you'll need a larger lead.
The brake is very easy to control too - it is firm yet easy to apply and release; and it doesn't get released accidentally because it is positioned well away from where your hand sits on the handle. It is in no way finnicky and the response is immediate. The tension on the lead is perfect - even when your dog is wandering the tension is just enough to let you know where your dog is and let your dog know where you are! This lead allows for permanent control over your dog whether on a short or long lead.
I cannot recommend this lead highly enough - I only wish I'd found it sooner! Thank you VIOVET- I'm a very, very happy customer, so much so, I'm buying another one :)
