Apocaps contain a wide range of carefully selected and refined natural ingredients which are claimed to act synergistically together to try and promote a process called apoptosis. Apoptosis is the natural cycling of cells within the body, whereby older cells die off and new ones take their place. Apocaps are formulated in the USA from safe, natural, human-grade ingredients and processed to make them much more bio-available than the original plant derivatives. . The ingredients of Apocaps include agents which increase the solubility and absorption of the required plant elements, boosting blood levels of the required products.

Cancer is not just one disease, it is in reality a name given to a large group of conditions with a common theme. This is sometimes described as "persistent, purposeless proliferation". Essentially cancer occurs when a type of body tissue grows to excess. The excessive tissue often fails to function in an appropriate way, and ultimately gets in the way of the other, normal body tissues, so interfering with their usual function. Cancer often forms as a tumour, which simply means a "lump", but the worst types of cancer often spread as multiple, tiny groups of cells through the body, without ever forming a discrete lump or tumour. Often a tumour forms first, then as the cancer becomes more aggressive, cells leave the original mass and set up in new sites around the body. There are many different types of cancer and many different causes. Many of the causes are not known - the cancer simply seems to appear spontaneously.
Apocaps are designed to try and promote the normal, appropriate death of cells when they have run their normal life span. Some forms of cancer appear to circumvent the normal, programmed cell death process ("apoptosis") and persist and replicate beyond what is useful. Apocaps have been associated with a longer lifespan after diagnosis of cancer than would normally be expected. Very importantly the quality of life has been scored more highly when compared with dogs not receiving Apocaps. These are subjective assessments and scientific proof of effect is difficult to establish. The cellular effects of the ingredients in Apocaps also might be able to lessen the unwanted side effects which usually result from chemotherapy and radiotherapy. This can mean that the cancer patient feels better while treatment is being given, as well as allowing more of the conventional treatments to be used without causing distress. Apocaps have been used by canine oncologists in the USA and around the world.
Apocaps can be used alone, or in combination with other forms of therapy. They are not now recommended to be given to dogs receiving steroids or non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). Generally speaking it is sensible to try and hit cancer with as many different things as possible. General nutrition can play a big part, so a change in diet is potentially helpful, as well as other lifestyle changes. Apocaps were developed by Dr. Demian Dressler, DVM, working in Hawaii. His book The Dog Cancer Survival Guide, contains lots more useful information on cancer therapy in dogs.

We bought Apocaps in October 2022 when our dog was diagnosed with lymphoma. He was a Labrador and first showed signs of swelling in his neck back in July 2022. It took until October to get a diagnosis because he had no other symptoms and was very healthy. He was 6 years old. In October they did a biopsy and told us he had a maximum of 6 weeks to live. We bought the book written by the creator of Apocaps and decided to do all we could to prolong our beloved dog's life. Our lovely boy lived a full and healthy life until early March 2023. His decline was very rapid when it did come, only 2 days of illness, before that you wouldn't know anything was wrong. We ran out of apocaps for about 10 days in Febuary because it was out of stock everywhere and we could tell that he felt worse during that time. I would recommend reading the book on dogs with cancer by the creator of apocaps and I would also recommend using the supplements if you can afford to, they are so expensive but we believe they gave us extra time with our dog and gave him a quality of life he would not otherwise have enjoyed.

So, 4 years ago our Jack Russell started using these (4 per day) and had 2 rounds of chemo, which finished in March 2018. He has been in complete remission from his lymphoma for 2 years and 4 months, now. Statistically,he is in the 5% that are considered "cured". Chemo was the weopon to eradicate the disease but I believe the Apocaps facilitated his gene expression to fix the underlying issue. What we expose our genes to ultimately causes them to become mutated or in Harvey's case repaired. Good diet and supplementation gave him that opportunity.

Can Apocaps be took alongside Lions mane supplement and when my dog is on chemotherapy Doxorubina
Apocaps have not been specifically tested alongside Doxorubicin or Lion's Mane supplement so it is impossible to say whether they are safe for use in your case or not unfortunately. I recommend discussing their use with your local vet to be safe.

I have a 9yr old German shepherd with a small lump/syst on either side of his back legs and sometimes struggles to get up , could these tablets help
This supplement does not have a medical license yet and as such there is no data to say how effective they are. However people do report good results when their dogs have taken them. For your dog it will be dependent on what the lumps actually are. They won't do any harm so if you can afford them you could give them a try. His difficulty in getting up could be related to arthritis in his back legs though so you could speak to your vet about an anti-inflammatory medication to help with that.

This product might well be a help to her - this type of supplement does not have a medical license and so it is not possible to say for certain if it ever helps. However a lot of people feel that their dogs do benefit and achieve much better results than would otherwise have been expected. It is possible to give a small amount of turmeric at the same time, but you probably do not need to.

My dog is currently taking destolit for his liver. Would the apocaps be safe to give him alongside the destolit? He has a mast cell tumour.
There has not been a thorough scientific evaluation of this situation to my knowledge, so it is not possible to say for certain. Apocaps do seem generally to be safe enough and probably will be safe for your dog, but if liver function is significantly impaired then they might not be ideal. It is difficult to advise you further than that. What does your own vet say?

Can Apocaps & Prednicare be taken together. Or would you stop Prednicare.
These are often taken together and if your vet has prescribed Prednicare you should certainly stay on it. The Apocaps are designed to help in a very different way. They may or may not be effective for your individual dog, but are very unlikely to cause any trouble.

My dog is on max dose of Masivet and her mast cell tumour above carpus has reappeared. Are there any contraindications to giving her apocaps too?
There are no known contraindications for adding Apocaps to the treatment plan. There is not much scientific evidence that they are effective, but sometimes they do appear to make a difference. You should continue with whatever prescription medication your vets advise. Adding Apocaps should be safe and might add something to the overall effect.

Hi my 8 year old Labrador has had his rear right leg and a third of his pelvis amputated as a tumour grew so fast, bone biopsy inconclusive and this was the recommend action in view of limited information and clearly the discomfort and pain he was in.
It turned out that the severity of the tumour had in fact shattered his hip too!
Quite the opposite of what the vet expected (he strongly suspected bone cancer/malignant), results following amputation revealed a soft tissue sarcoma which had invaded the bone!
Prognosis positive as radical surgery hopefully means all tumour area has been removed.
The vet will be keeping a close eye on him.
Do you think giving him Apocaps will help to ensure tumour does not return? And I'm paranoid about giving him something that might do more harm than good?

Apocaps is an unusual product and there is not much scientific evidence that it is effective. However some people have been very pleased with it and convinced that it helped. It seems to be very safe and I do not think it could cause any trouble for your dog.

Hello, my 11 year old staffy has a massive tumor in her stomach which has taken up most of the space there, will the apocaps help and shrink the tumor and give her more comfort?
Also she has a tumor on her windpipe which is causing it to bend, will it do the same and shrink it and give her more comfort?
Unfortunately you cannot confidently expect that Apocaps will help in these ways. There are reports of Apocaps seeming to act like this, but equally they can certainly fail to do so. My impression of the most common reports of useful effects from Apocaps involve a general improvement in the feeling of wellbeing and a longer period than expected of comfortable life. The response and subsequent behaviour of individual tumours is often unpredictable. Apocaps might be of benefit to your dog, but due to the lack of adequate scientific research so far, it is difficult to say any more than that. People tend to use it when they are hoping for a safe and "natural" product to add to any other treatment being given.
Cainine lymphoma
My dog is 15 years old and has been diagnosed with B cell lymphoma. I can not afford the chemotherapy that has been offered. Will these tablets be helpful?
There are no independent clinical trials I am aware of which demonstrate scientifically if Apocaps can help with anything. (They are classed as a food supplement.) Therefore it would be wrong for anyone to make any particular claim about what they can do to treat cancer. Having said that, there are reasons to think that they should be able to help with some types of cancer and indeed many people who have given them to their dogs are convinced they have helped. There are others who feel they have made no difference. My feeling is that by giving them, you are at least doing something which could help and will do no harm. If you can afford them, I would give them a try.

My dog had a spleenectomy for sarcoma on 23rd december 2013,she also has a pacemaker fitted ,can she take apocaps ?
Apocaps should be suitable for your dog, though we cannot tell how helpful they will be. The evidence that they can help is mostly anecdotal and every case is different. Sometimes they appear to make a big difference, though often it is difficult to judge that. Your dog certainly should be able to take Apocaps given the history you have provided.
