Tylan Soluble is tylosin tartrate BP (Vet), a white to medium yellow coloured soluble powder for oral solution. Each bottle contains 100 g of tylosin tartrate activity. Each bag contains 1000 g of tylosin tartrate activity.
Uses
For the prevention and treatment of bovine pneumonia associated with bovine respiratory Mycoplasma or Pasteurella multocida sensitive to tylosin.
For the control of Mycoplasma synoviae airsacculitis in chickens and Mycoplasma gallisepticum S6 in chickens and turkeys. In the field Tylan Soluble has also proved useful in reducing the level of infection following stress association with live vaccination.
As an aid in the control of outbreaks of necrotic enteritis caused by Clostridia perfringens in chickens.
For the prevention and control of enzootic pneumonia, swine dysentery and other scours caused by organisms (e.g. Lawsonia intracellularis) sensitive to tylosin, in pigs.
Dosage and administration Calves
One gram of Tylan Soluble per young calf administered orally twice daily for seven to fourteen days. The product may be incorporated into the milk or reconstituted milk replacer at the time of feeding.
Chickens and turkeys
Tylan Soluble is administered in the drinking water at a concentration of 0.5 g per litre to provide 50-200 mg/kg bw, depending on the age and the water consumption of the birds.

A medicated solution of drinking water should be administered until 24 hours after scouring or respiratory symptoms have ceased, normally 3-10 days. The diagnosis should be reviewed if no response after 5 days of medication. Contra-indications, warnings, etc

Operator warnings
Tylosin may induce irritation. Macrolides, such as tylosin, may also cause hypersensitivity (allergy) following injection, inhalation, ingestion or contact with skin or eye. Hypersensitivity to tylosin may lead to cross reactions to other macrolides and vice versa. Allergic reactions to these substances may occasionally be serious and therefore direct contact should be avoided.
To avoid exposure during preparation of the medicated drinking water, wear overalls, safety glasses, impervious gloves and wear either a disposable half mask respirator conforming to European Standard EN149 or a non-disposable respirator to European Standard EN140 with a filter to EN143. Wash hands after use.
In the event of accidental skin contact, wash thoroughly with soap and water. In case of accidental eye contact, flush the eyes with plenty of clean, running water.
Do not handle the product if you are allergic to ingredients in the product.
If you develop symptoms following exposure, such as skin rash, you should seek medical advice and show the physician this warning. Swelling of the face, lips and eyes or difficulty in breathing are more serious symptoms and require urgent medical attention.

Tylan G50 Premix is a light tan free-flowing granular meal for inclusion in animal feeding stuffs.
Each 1 kg of Tylan G50 Premix contains tylosin phosphate equivalent to 50 g tylosin activity.
Uses Indications
For the prevention and control of swine dysentery and enzootic pneumonia. Treatment and control of Lawsonia intracellularis, the organism associated with Porcine Proliferative Enteropathies such as Porcine Intestinal Adenomatosis (Ileitis) and Porcine Haemorrhagic Enteropathy.
Dosage and administration
The required levels of tylosin are obtained by mixing the appropriate quantity of premix with 20-50 kg of a suitable feed component, prior to incorporation into the bulk of the feed to be prepared.
The product should be thoroughly mixed into the complete feed. To ensure thorough dispersion of the product it should first be mixed with a small quantity of feed ingredients before incorporation into the final mix.

3–6 mg tylosin activity/kg bodyweight, which normally may be achieved by adding the product at the rate of 2 kg per tonne, giving 100 g tylosin base per tonne of feed. Feed as the only ration for 21 days, followed by feed containing 0.8 kg of the product per tonne of feed (giving 40 g of tylosin activity base equivalent per tonne) until the end of the period of risk.

Unused product or waste material should be disposed of in accordance with current practice for pharmaceutical waste under national waste disposal regulations.
