Feeding Directions
Amounts to feed reflect Liquivite's higher moisture content and its role in re-hydrating as well as feeding the sick cat or dog. For cats, introduce at 100g per kg of bodyweight; increase by 50% as appetite returns. For small breeds of dogs introduce at 100g per kg of bodyweight, for medium breeds at 80g, and for large breeds at 60g. Increase by 50% as appetite returns. These directions are given on the labels, as are amounts to feed the weaning kitten or puppy.
Shake can well before opening. Once opened, use within 24 hours, refrigerating any unused portion. Return to room temperature before feeding. Liquivite also freezes well, allowing its use over a period of time, for example where small daily amounts are needed for the weaning kitten or puppy. Freeze Liquivite in serving-sized amounts. When required, defrost and allow to return to room-temperature, stir well, and feed as normal.

Liquivite is suitable for the older dog, perhaps no longer able to handle solid foods as easily. Feed up to two cans per day, depending on size of dog, by itself or mixed with other foods, particularly dry food. For weaning puppies, Liquivite is suitable as their first non-milk food during the transition to solids. Feed up to two cans per day, depending on breed, in several small meals from four weeks of age. Mix with solids from six weeks, until weaned. During recovery from illness, injury or surgery, Liquivite is smooth enough for syringe feeding when appetite is absent, and easily consumed as appetite returns. For small breeds introduce at 100g per kg of bodyweight, medium breeds 80g and large breeds 60g. Increase by 50% as appetite returns. Liquivite helps replace fluid when dehydration has occured, or is at risk. Essential vitamins and minerals are added, at levels suitable for animals under stress. Liquivite contains fish oil, supplying Omega 3 fatty acids, EPA and DHA. These can promote the wellbeing and condition of the animal. Liquivite incorporates a pre-biotic, which can be utilised by the benficial bacteria in the gut. Rosemary extract is added as a natural anti-oxident.
